Developer converts Cold War missile silo into luxury condo for next ‘Doomsday’
Developer Larry Hall just finished renovations on an underground missile silo that he has been transforming from a Cold War relic into luxury condominiums in Kansas.
Built to withstand an atomic blast, the structure’s concrete walls are nine feet thick and extend 174 feet underground.
The Survival Condo will have enough food grown on-site, and purified well and rain water to safely keep 70 people in lockdown for years. To keep everyone happy and enjoying life he has also installed a movie theatre, bar, pool, spa, and classrooms. Residential spaces feature jacuzzis, large HDTV panels, deluxe appliances, and simulated windows.
Luxury Atomic Shelters, Survival Condo complex boasts full and half-floor units that cost $1.5 million to $3 million each.
Very cool, guess,it’s good to be rich. Somehow, we don’t thing these shelters could withstand direct 10-kiloton nuclear hit.
