Pulse Urban Glowing Bicycle
Urban bike concepts for a riding in the dark.
Over the years we have featured countless attempts at making night riding more safe for evening bicycle commuters, but nothing has quite measured up to the Teague Pulse Urban Glowing Bicycle.
The Pulse Urban Bike is a creation by Seattle designers Teague, its a innovative urban bike concept formed to meet all the standard necessities of bike commute. It features electric turn signals, located both on the edge of each handle and at the rear indicator light, that can be controlled form the handlebars and a glowing frame that lights up when the rider needs it. The bike has a fixed gear.
The bike’s turn signal operates like a motorcycle’s, with a kill switch on the left handle, illuminating LED turn lights on both the handlebar ends, and a taillight mounted on the seat tube. Counterweighted pedals should always stay right side up for easy foot-entry into cages -– no flailing around in an intersection trying to slip into your toe clips.
Best of all, it looks like the whole frame is intended to glow, which is both a great safety feature and a style selling point for anyone in the market for a truly striking ride.
Unfortunately there’s no explanation of how the frame would glow or what it might be made of, but it sure looks cool.
